Abstract
The rate of depression and suicide among individuals incarcerated in jails are significantly higher than the general population. Therefore, it is necessary to identify and diagnose depression among inmates so that they receive timely and appropriate care. The Ultra-Brief 2-Item Depression Screening Tool (UB2DS) has been validated to be used in the correctional setting. This project aimed to increase the knowledge and the use of depression screenings by providing education on the UB2DS to clinicians in the mental health department of the jail.
